I grew up right outside of Plymouth, Massachusetts, and know that the town is a haven for tourists, especially around Thanksgiving. If you plan to take a trip to “America’s Hometown” this holiday season, I recommend checking out Plimoth Plantation and Edaville Family Theme Park!
With its historical sights and interactive exhibits, Plimoth Plantation is perfect for people of all ages. If the weather is warm then you can explore the seventeenth-century village and learn about what life was like in colonial Plymouth, as told by actors portraying historical figures. If you visit after November 25 or if it’s chilly outside, then pop into Plimoth Cinema to watch an independent film.
Edaville Family Theme Park is perfect for young children! With over 70 rides and attractions (both indoor and outdoor), you’ll never run out of things to do. Edaville has four main parks for you to check out: Edaville, Cran Central, Thomas Land and Dino Land. The Christmas Festival of Lights Theme Park opens on November 16, but even if you don’t celebrate Christmas there will still be plenty for you to do!
If you need to wind down, I suggest checking out Gunther Tooties for a coffee and a bagel before you explore more of what America’s Hometown has to offer!
