Tanya Seamans joined the PSG team in the summer of 2015 after completing her first year of graduate school at Emerson College, where she is pursuing a master’s degree in Publishing & Writing. An alumna of Providence College—from which she graduated magna cum laude with a double major in English and psychology—Tanya stayed near her home state of Massachusetts for school but ventured abroad to Scotland during her junior year.

Possessing both a lifelong love of reading and a BA in English, publishing is an obvious career path for Tanya. She has a strong background in leadership and education, as she was a resident assistant during college and now serves as a substitute teacher in the Middleboro Public Schools—both of which are jobs that have taught her to adapt quickly and to think on her feet. PSG is her first professional taste of publishing, and she is excited to work in an environment where she will learn important skills and her contributions will be valued. Tanya aspires to be a senior editor at a trade publishing house in the future and believes that interning at PSG this summer will put her on the path to achieving this goal.

Empathetic and idea-oriented, Tanya’s enthusiasm is palpable. She is a voracious reader and a devoted Harry Potter fan—she credits the series for being a defining factor in her life and is a whiz at Harry Potter trivia. She is likewise a staunch devotee of Jane Austen and enjoys perusing BuzzFeed in her free time.

Tanya has participated in a significant amount of volunteer work to benefit children both abroad and close to home; she developed her interpersonal skills as a student fundraiser during college. Tanya enjoys working in fast-paced environments with people who are just as driven as she is, and she looks forward to continuing to dedicate her skills to PSG.
