Monica is one of PSG’s Summer 2018 interns and she is so excited to have such a valuable opportunity right here in her hometown of Burlington. Monica has just finished her sophomore year at Emerson College as a Writing, Literature & Publishing major with a minor in Journalism. At Emerson, she is also involved in the dance team and she has been dancing for almost her entire life.

During her time in school, Monica has worked as a writer and editor for Odyssey online, a copyeditor and writer for Emerson’s Atlas Magazine, and an intern at Study Breaks magazine. Looking toward the future, Monica notes her dream job would be to work as an editor or a staff writer for a magazine or other publication that focuses on social issues and/or is catered toward women.

Monica is also proud of her family’s Italian origins—she is (somewhat) bilingual and has a dual citizenship in the United States and Italy. Monica is passionate about her interests, curious and highly caffeinated—likely a result of her job as a barista in a coffee shop. She enjoys working with driven, harmonious and open-minded individuals, all of which makes her a perfect fit here at PSG!

In all her reading endeavors, Monica says she absolutely could not live without the New York Times, Bad Feminist by Roxane Gay and Messy Heads magazine. Her favorite novel is Every Day by David Levithan. Monica is eager to gain real-world experience, learn as much as possible about the publishing industry and prep herself for her future career—and PSG is so excited to see her grow and succeed!
