Elizabeth Dice comes to Publishing Solutions Group with over 20 years of experience in educational publishing. She has worked for, and with, numerous publishers including Heinle and Heinle, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Pearson Education, Prentice Hall and Scott Foresman. With her bilingual background and years of experience in both bilingual content development and project management, Elizabeth is a perfect fit for PSG’s translation and localization team. Elizabeth is fluent in speaking, writing and reading Spanish.

When it comes to bilingual programs, particularly Spanish, she has found that it is very helpful to have a deeper familiarity with both the entire publishing process and teaching in a bilingual classroom. With experience in editorial, production, design and bilingual products, Elizabeth finds she can “better understand the requirements for these types of projects, which increases the client’s comfort level.”

Prior to joining PSG, Elizabeth worked as bilingual editorial director of ICC Macmillan for over four years, and as project manager/content manager at two other development houses over a span of 10 years. Elizabeth’s previous work experience also includes being a senior editor of reading and language arts, an editorial manager, a content manager, a Spanish teacher and professor, a Spanish interpreter, and an ESL and ELL teacher. She has also worked as a graphic design teacher at Newbury College.

Throughout her career in educational publishing, Elizabeth has managed all editorial aspects of projects, ensuring high-quality content and a seamless cohesion with the production process. Her recent bilingual project experience includes:

  • Pearson Education, Reading Street customization, correlation of reading program to multiple states and CCSS, English and Spanish
  • Chelsea House, Holidays series, grades 5–8
  • Scott Foresman, multiple bilingual basal reading programs, SE and TE, grades K–6, English and Spanish
  • Pearson Education, New York Math Test Prep, Spanish edition
  • Cengage Learning/Heinle and Heinle, Ya Veras Gold, SE and TE, levels 1–3, Spanish
  • Pearson Education, Realidades, third edition
  • Pearson, Earth and Physical Science, SE, grades 6–8, Spanish edition

Of the duality of her project management and editorial experience, Elizabeth says, “When I started in educational publishing, I was responsible for editorial supervision, hands-on editing and proofreading, plus the tracking of budgets and schedules. It wasn’t until later that I encountered the practice of separating project management from editorial.” Elizabeth describes herself as both a “wordsmith” and a “renaissance person” because she is used to performing different roles as needed.

Elizabeth holds a bachelor of arts in English from Smith College. She graduated from Michigan State University with a master of arts in English, and minors in Spanish and education.
