PSG Reads: Boston Public Schools Outreach
Lori Becker
June 2008: PSG completes 2008 PSG READS volunteer initiative to benefit our South End community. With PSG’s experience in developing K–12 reading and language arts materials and our staff’s love of literature, a reading program was an obvious choice and PSG Reads was born. Staff members visited a local elementary school to read aloud to second grades with the hopes of enhancing their reading experience.
We recognize the benefits of reading aloud to students, which include strengthening their fluency, expression, vocabulary, and familiarity with language. PSG READS encourages a lifelong love of reading and promotes community involvement for both the students and the PSG staff.
Congratulations to our 2008-2009 Grade 2 classes!
